The Way Station seeks Christmas donations

COLUMBIANA

The Way Station, 769 Springfield Road, is seeking families, groups and individuals to help make Christmas special for children.

The faith-based, nonprofit organization has the names of 150 children who can be “adopted.” So far, 50 childrens’ names have been taken.

Volunteers receive a number of an anonymous child with the following information — gender, age, clothing sizes and gift ideas. Children from the same family will have the same number. The Way Station requests that gifts be identified by the numbers.

Christmas gifts must be at The Way Station by Dec. 16. Unwrapped gifts should be placed in a dark-colored garbage bag.

Carla Sukosd, who coordinates direct assistance and special events, said co-workers, small church groups and extended families have volunteered to adopt families with multiple children while some individuals prefer to focus on just one child.

Contact Sukosd at 330-482-5072 or email her at carlasukosd@yahoo.com and include your name, address and phone number.
