Free flu shots available Thursday at MYCAP

YOUNGSTOWN — Free flu shots will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday to the first 90 Mahoning County adult residents to arrive at the Youngstown office of the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave.

A registered pharmacist from the Walgreens on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown will administer the shots.

“Our home office provided 90 additional vouchers so we could provide this potentially life-saving service,” said Mike Ziccardi, Belmont Avenue Walgreens manager.

People do not need to make an appointment ahead of time, but they should bring the necessary documentation so they are able to move through the process more quickly.

This includes proof of identification, such as a driver’s license or birth certificate, and private insurance card or public insurance card, such as the Ohio Medicaid or Medicare card.

For information, call MYCAP at 330-747-7921 or Walgreens at 330-746-4814.
