Bond set at $300,000 for Lowery in Warren shooting
WARREN
Kardell Lowery Jr., 18, is being held in the Trumbull County jail in lieu of $300,000 bond following his arraignment this morning in Warren Municipal Court on one count of felonious assault in the Tuesday morning shooting of Davion J. Rogers, 22, of 2044 Ferndale Avenue SW.
Though Warren police have refused to discuss any details of the case, court records indicate Lowery is charged with shooting only Rogers, not the other victim in the case, Jamal B. Coleman, 20, also of the Ferndale address.
An innocent plea was entered for Lowery in municipal court.
When asked Tuesday whether there is more than one suspect in the case, Lt. Jeff Cole, public information officer and officer in charge at the Warren Police Department, said that was “under investigation.” When asked later Tuesday the same question, he declined to answer.
Lowery was arrested without incident at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 1900 block of Wick Street Southeast and taken to the Trumbull County jail.
He returns to Warren Municipal Court for his next hearing at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 27.
Coleman was taken to St, Elizabeth Health Center following the 1:44 a.m. Tuesday shooting, but he was later discharged. Rogers was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he remained on Tuesday afternoon. A Warren police report said both men suffered a “major injury.”
