Don't be alarmed by gunshots at Youngstown Air Reserve Station Weds. night

VIENNA — Residents and passers-by in the vicinity of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station here should not be alarmed to hear weapons fire on the facility from Wednesday evening until early Thursday morning.

A YARS spokesman said members of the 910th Airlift Wing’s Security Forces Squadron and Department of Defense security officers will be conducting weapons qualification from 10 p.m. Wednesday until about 6 a.m. Thursday.

The weapons fire is a scheduled event and is necessary to maintain the mission readiness of the security personnel assigned to the 910th, officials said.
