TV host Seacrest brings studios to Cincy hospital

CINCINNATI (AP) — “American Idol” TV host Ryan Seacrest has helped open a multimedia operation geared for young patients at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

WKID-33 is a closed-circuit channel for the hospital that will broadcast from the latest Seacrest Studios, funded by his namesake foundation.

Seacrest says the multimedia studios will have programming meant for children, and also gives them the chance to participate.

The veteran television and radio personality helped kick things off today by interviewing patients and hosting his guests, musicians Jason Derulo and local native Drew Lachey.

Seacrest says the studios and programs are designed to provide a little distraction and fun for patients and their families. Cincinnati is the sixth location.
