STEM interns to discuss experience

More than 20 Youngstown State University students serving in fall and summer internships from New York to Hawaii will talk about their experiences at the Fall 2013 College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Experiential Learning Co-Op Internship Presentations on Wednesday and Thursday.

The students, who are working at internships with companies ranging from NUCOR/Vulcraft and IES Systems and Mahoning County Engineers, will make the presentations from 2 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 2400 in Moser Hall on the YSU campus. All of the students are enrolled in YSU’s College of STEM. Some of the students are interns under the university’s new Program for Internships and Co-Ops in Advanced Manufacturing and Related Industries, or PICAM, through a $573,300 grant from the Ohio Board of Regents. The grant focuses on helping to increase the number and enhance the quality of technology and business professionals in Northeast Ohio. Other students are serving internships through a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to the YSU Center for Transportation and Materials Engineering.
