Christmas light display opens Friday in Columbiana

The Joy of Christmas Drive-Through Light Display at Harvey S. Firestone Park, 338 E. Park Ave., will open Friday and then run from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays to Sundays through Dec. 18. From Dec. 19 to 29, the show will be open every night.

A Christmas hayride and sneak peak of the light show will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Cost is $5 per person. Make reservations for the preview by calling 330-482-2282.

Joy of Christmas Senior Night will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5. Cost will be $5 per car with a passenger who is 55 or older. Entertainment will be provided by Silver and Gold at Santa’s Ice Castle.

The Light Show’s opening will coincide with a “Christmas in Columbiana” celebration throughout the city. Events include:

Friday

10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Christmas open houses at Columbiana businesses with special holiday sales, promotions and refreshments.

2 to 6 p.m., holiday open house at The Dutch Tulip in Das Dutch Village, offering portraits with Santa and holiday gifts.

6 p.m., lighting ceremony on Town Square with carols by the Heartland Choir.

6:30 p.m., Santa Christmas Parade on Main Street, “Joy of Christmas is Shining in the Night” live Nativity sponsored by First Christian Church at Main Street Theater, and photos with Santa, $5 each.

7 p.m., opening of the Joy of Christmas light show, cost $8 per vehicle, through 9 p.m.

8 p.m. Free concert with the New Silver Eagle Band at the Main Street Theater.

Saturday

8 a.m., 5K Run for Wellness at Crestview High School.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m., craft show and flea market at First Presbyterian Church, free admission.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Christmas open houses with sales, promotions and refreshments from Columbiana merchants.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., holiday open house at The Dutch Tulip in Das Dutch Village, offering portraits with Santa and holiday gifts.

7 p.m., free family movie at Main Street Theater.
