Kristen Mellott of Cortland and Michael Yacovone of Austintown exchanged wedding vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony June 22 at St. Columba Cathedral. The Rev. Carl Kish officiated, and a reception followed at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.

The bride is the daughter of Lee and Joyce Mellott of Cortland.

She wore a fit-and-flare off-white strapless gown fashioned with a corset bodice, lace appliqu s and a chapel train.

Attendants wore ivory dresses with purple bows. Nicole Rigby and Rochelle Thomas served as honor attendants, and bridesmaids were Katie Beatty, Jenna Yacovone, Casey Vastag, Jenelle Lucante and Kayla Gilliland.

The bride’s cousin Sydney Platt was the flower girl.

The groom is the son of Jordan and Lori Yacovone of Austintown. Serving as best man was Nick Yacovone, his brother.

Groomsmen were Mark Mellott, Steve Yacovone, Joe McHenry, John Burnich, Shane Roche and Bob Melnek. The bride’s cousin Connor Platt was the ring bearer.

Participating as ushers were Ryan Lopuchovsky, Kevin Monti, Trevor Yacovone and Joshua Vastag.

Mrs. Yacovone earned a degree in business and organizational communication-public relations from the University of Akron. She is a director of marketing and sales for Great Improvements in Cortland.

Her husband earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law. He is an attorney practicing in Akron and Youngstown.

The couple honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and live in Cornersburg.
