LIBERTY

Liberty Police Department is investigating a robbery at First Place Bank in Churchill Commons Plaza, 4682 Belmont Ave.

A man about 30 to 40 years old, about 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches and about 150 to 160 pounds with dark hair and wearing a baseball cap, gray jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes walked into the bank and demanded money about 2:30 p.m.

He didn’t show a weapon but kept a hand in his jacket as if he were holding one, said Capt. Toby Meloro of the Liberty Police Department.

He got cash from a teller and fled, apparently in a vehicle, Meloro said.

Attempted stabbing reported in Warren

WARREN

A 29-year-old city man said he and a 39-year-old female from Warren were sitting in his car when the woman’s estranged husband snuck up to the car with a knife drawn and tried to stab them.

The incident happened in the 2000 block of Hamilton Street Southwest at 11:44 p.m. Thursday.

The car’s window was mostly up, and the suspect failed to get in the vehicle, so neither person was injured, police said.

The suspect fled when the victims said they were calling police.
