Human trafficking workshop

Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. will present a workshop on human trafficking from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave. Registration will be 11 to 11:30 a.m., with lunch at 11:30 and speakers from 12:10 to 2:30 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be Holly Smith, a survivor of child trafficking. She has appeared on the Dr. Oz show to raise awareness for the issue of domestic minor sex trafficking. She is the author of “Walking Prey.”

There will also be presentations from Tracey Plouck, director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and Isabel Seavey, co-director of North East Ohio Coalition on Rescue and Restore. For information, contact Duane Piccirilli at 330-747-5111.

2 men indicted

YOUNGSTOWN

A federal grand jury indicted two men from the Mahoning Valley on firearms charges.

U.S. Attorney For The Northern District of Ohio Steven M. Dettelbach announced that Kenneth D. Key, 28, of Warren and Leroy Gore, 40, of Campbell each face charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Key is accused of having a 9 mm pistol Aug. 18 despite federal convictions for firearms offenses and drug trafficking from the Northern District of West Virginia.

Gore is accused of having a .45-caliber pistol Oct. 12, after previous convictions in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault.

The cases were investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Campbell Police Department.

Immunization clinic

GIRARD

Girard Health Department’s well-child immunization clinic is Wednesday at 100 W. Main St. Call 330-545-6048 for times and appointment. A $10 fee will be charged per child. Bring a copy of the child’s immunization record, and a parent or guardian must accompany children under 18. Parents must pre-register children before the clinic. Call from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Vets, ROTC reunion

YOUNGSTOWN

Reservations are due Monday for the Youngstown State University Veterans and ROTC Reunion Friday and Nov. 23.

On Friday at the Williamson College of Business Administration Atrium, there is a reception at 5:30 p.m., and the reunion dinner is at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person and $20 per student.

On Nov. 23 at 12:30 p.m., the Terrace Dinner is at Stambaugh Stadium. The cost is $10 per person. Also available are a reserved block of tickets for the 2 p.m. football game between Youngstown State and South Dakota State. The cost is $10 per person.
