YMCA plans annual Thanksgiving 5K

NEW CASTLE, PA.

New Castle Community YMCA, 20 W. Washington St., will host its annual 5K run-walk on Thanksgiving Day.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the gym. Race packets will be distributed, and T-shirts will be available while supplies last. Only those who register by today are guaranteed a shirt.

The race starts at 9 a.m. in front of the Y downtown.

Registration forms and course maps are available at www.ncymca.org.

The entry fee is $25 per person; children 6 and younger can enter for free.

The event is sponsored by Phil Fitts Ford. Proceeds from the race support the Y’s youth scholarship fund.

There will be live entertainment by a disc jockey, refreshments and an awards ceremony.
