Q. When did you start playing your instrument?

A. Suszczynski: I began playing the trumpet in the fifth-grade band.

Miller: I began playing the baritone in the ninth- and tenth-grade. Then I began playing the tuba in the eleventh- and twelfth-grade.

Q. Best memory of being in band/marching band?

A. Suszczynski: My best memory of being the marching band is meeting new people and performing for our community. Through the four years that I have been in marching band, we have played many enjoyable songs. Some of them are “Sing Sing Sing,” “Riverdance” and “All of the Lights.” One of the greatest things about marching band is the people. Marching band has a lot of people with many different personalities, and they all come together as one because of their appreciation of music.

Miller: My best memory of being in the marching band was the 2012 trip to New Orleans to perform in the BCS National Championship Game. Also, I have enjoyed all of the new friendships from being in the band. One of the other reasons I have enjoyed marching band is the football games and marching with my friends.

Q. Why is music important to you?

A. Suszczynski: Music is important to me because of being able to read and play music is a skill that can be carried through your entire life.

Miller: It allows me to express myself.

Q. What college do you hope to attend/intended major?

A. Suszczynski: I plan to attend Ohio State University for Broadcast Journalism.

Miller: I plan to attend Youngstown State University. I have not decided on a major yet.
