Newton Falls man arrested in suspected meth-lab home

Staff report

NEWTON FALLS

Police arrested Matthew W. Greathouse, 36, at his home, 2539 McMullen Allen Road, Thursday on a probation violation after they found suspected methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia, chemicals used in meth production and a sample of suspected meth in the home.

Newton Falls police and the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force went to the home to investigate allegations of drug activity.

The Trumbull County Hazmat team was contacted to neutralize chemicals found at the scene and take samples. Team members found three of what is commonly referred to as “one pot” labs outside of the residence and a coffee-pot-lab in the basement, TAG said in a news release.

Trumbull County Children’s Services came to the scene because two children, who were in school at the time, live there, TAG said.

Greathouse could face additional charges after lab tests on the materials taken from the home are analyzed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
