Trumbull Commissioner Frank Fuda to run for re-election

WARREN

Frank Fuda, Trumbull County commissioner for the past seven years, will formally announce his intention to run for re-election to a third term Thursday at a fundraiser and kickoff dinner at Vernon’s Cafe in Niles.

His current term expires at the end of 2014.

“There’s a lot more work to do,” Fuda said Tuesday.

“There’s been a lot of accomplishments like the Kinsman [sewer] project that people said would never happen.”

The county has carried out $50 million worth of sewer construction since he took office, but there’s still $40 million more to go, he said.

“I’ve been able to keep all the promises I made seven years ago, and I’ve got new goals I want to accomplish,” he added.

Fuda, a former Niles councilman and former teacher in the Cleveland public schools, said some of the tasks that lie ahead will be tough, like getting waterlines extended into Southington Township and sewer lines extended into several low-income areas of Trumbull County.
