Columbiana woman charged with thefts from Southern Park Mall stores

BOARDMAN — Township police arrested a Columbiana woman today on charges of theft and two counts of receiving stolen property.

Patricia Bryson, 57, of Wind Rose Court, is accused of stealing from three different department stores in Southern Park Mall.

A Dillard’s loss-prevention officer told police Bryson walked into the store with multiple handbags on her arm. The officer then saw Bryson conceal multiple items in one of the handbags and then leave the store, according to a police report.

When loss prevention stopped Bryson, she agreed to come back to the office. While loss prevention went through the items, they found multiple pieces of merchandise from Macy’s and J.C.Penney’s.

Bryson admitted she stole the items, according to the police report. She was released on a summons to appear at 5;30 p.m. Thursday in Mahoning County Area Court here.
