Youngstown police cite man for DUI

YOUNGSTOWN — Police cited a city man for driving under the influence because they said his blood-alcohol limit was more than two times the legal limit after he rear-ended a car about 10:50 a.m. Monday.

Officers were called to McGuffey Road and Wick Avenue for an accident and found 56-year-old Danny Washington slumped over in the cab of his truck over several empty beer cans.

Reports said Washington could barely talk and he fell down when he tried to get in the back of a cruiser. A field-sobriety test could not be given because Washington could not stand up, reports said.

He also fell down at the police station when officers took him there for a breath test, reports said. After he registered the .280, he was cited and released.

The legal limit for driving drunk in Ohio is .08. Two people were in the vehicle Washington rear ended but they were not injured, reports said.
