Special prosecutors approved for John Dellick case

YOUNGSTOWN — The five general division judges of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court have approved the request of county Prosecutor Paul J. Gains for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to supply special prosecutors for the John Dellick aggravated-assault case.

Dellick, 19, of Canfield, is a son of Judge Theresa Dellick of the county’s juvenile court.

The entry was filed today in advance of John Dellick’s 1 p.m. Nov. 22 preliminary hearing before visiting Judge Michael Kevin Nunner in Mahoning County Area Court in Canfield.

It was signed by Judges R. Scott Krichbaum, James C. Evans, John M. Durkin, Maureen A. Sweeney and Lou A. D’Apolito.

The entry authorizes the AG’s office to prosecute the case in Canfield Court and, if it is bound over, to present it to the grand jury and prosecute it in common pleas court.

John Dellick is charged in the fourth-degree felony case in Canfield with ramming another man’s car while driving during an Oct. 18 Canfield Township altercation.
