Eagles sign Chaney grad Smith

PHILADELPHIA

The Philadelphia Eagles signed return specialist Brad Smith, a Chaney High graduate who was released by the Buffalo Bills last weekend.

After passing a physical, Smith announced the move on his Twitter account on Tuesday: “I am extremely grateful to be joining the @Eagles !! #Eagles #FlyEaglesFly”

Smith, who has spent all season on injured reserve with a rib injury, also plays receiver and can be a quarterback in wildcat formations. He averaged 25.7 yards on kickoff returns with four touchdowns during an eight-year career with the New York Jets and Buffalo. Smith has five TDs receiving, four rushing and one passing.
