Cops: Angry woman sets own house afire
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh woman has been jailed on charges she set her own house on fire after police made her leave following a fight with her boyfriend.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for 31-year-old Lynn Kennedy, who faces a preliminary hearing Nov. 19 on arson and related charges.
Police say Kennedy was out partying with friends and argued with her live-in boyfriend when she returned about 2 a.m. Sunday. Police made her leave, but officers say Kennedy returned 10 minutes later yelling, “If I can’t live here, no one can.”
They say she broke a front window, began tossing things, and lit garbage and clothing on fire on top of her stove, badly damaging the home.
Kennedy’s boyfriend, his 2-year-old daughter, and two others got out of the house unharmed.
