Ohio man kills ex-wife, shoots himself

ALLIANCE, Ohio (AP) — Police here say a man fatally shot his 28-year-old ex-wife before turning the gun on himself in a public parking lot.

Alliance police said the 31-year-old man called 911 Sunday night and reported killing his ex-wife. The man shot himself as police arrived at the scene, a parking lot near Alliance Community Hospital.

Alliance police Lt. John Jenkins said in an email this afternoon that the man was being treated for serious injuries at an Akron hospital.

Police said the man may have shot his ex-wife elsewhere and transported her body, which was wrapped in blankets and left next to a trash container in the hospital parking lot.

The couple had recently divorced.
