Fracas starts in Pa. over deer spotlighting

AIRVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania State police say they’re still sorting out who did what to whom when four people got into a fight over deer spotlighting in southeastern Pennsylvania, during which a man was hit in the head with a tire iron.

Troopers say that 34-year-old man from Delta had to be treated for a cut on his head at York Hospital.

Police aren’t releasing the names of those involved because charges had yet to be filed by late today.

Police say the Delta man and a 31-year-old woman were spotlighting deer — which can be illegal depending on the surrounding circumstances — about 7:40 p.m. last Tuesday. That’s when they were confronted by a couple who live nearby in Lower Chanceford Township.

Troopers say the male resident hit the male spotlighter, and the women began fighting one another.
