Montana 31, South Dakota 27

VERMILLION, S.D.

Ellis Henderson scored three touchdowns, two receiving and another on a kickoff return, as Montana edged South Dakota. With Montana up 24-17, Jordan Tripp forced a fumble that was returned 35 yards by Matt Hermanson for a touchdown with 6:33 remaining in the game. A 38-yard field goal from Miles Bergner with 1:48 left gave the Coyotes (4-6) a lead, but Henderson returned the ensuing kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to give the Grizzlies (8-2) a 31-27 lead. South Dakota had one final opportunity, driving 44 yards to the Montana 31-yard line before Bo Tully broke up a pass intended for Josh Vander Maten and the Coyotes turned the ball over on downs.

Missouri State 37, Southern Illinois 27

CARBONDALE, ILL.

Ashton Glaser threw for 310 yards, two touchdowns and ran for another score as Missouri State topped Southern Illinois. Missouri State (5-6, 5-2) trailed 14-0 midway through the first quarter but came back to take a 21-17 lead in the second on a 24-yard TD pass from Glaser to LeMarcus Stewart. Glaser tossed a 7-yard TD pass to Gannon Sinclair in the third to put the Bears up 31-20. Southern Illinois (5-5, 3-3) cut the lead to 31-27 in the fourth but Glaser ran for a 1-yard score with 2:04 to play.

South Dakota State 29, Indiana State 0

BROOKINGS, S.D.

Zach Zenner rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown as South Dakota State rolled over Indiana State. Zenner’s touchdown gave South Dakota State (6-4, 3-3) a 9-0 lead late in the first quarter, and the Jackrabbits added two second quarter field goals to take a 15-0 halftime lead. Austin Sumner connected with Jason Schneider for a 25-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Isaac Rodriguez scored his first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring. Sumner had 207 yards passing, and surpassed the 7,000 yard passing mark for his career. The Jackrabbits held Indiana State (1-9, 0-6) to just 161 yards of total offense, 56 passing.

North Dakota State 28, Illinois State 10

FARGO, N.D.

Brock Jensen threw three touchdown passes as North Dakota State maintained an undefeated record. Jensen pushed the Bison to an early lead with two touchdown passes of 27 yards to Zach Vraa and three yards to Kevin Vaadeland, as he completed 198 yards passing. The final TD pass for NDSU (9-0, 6-0) also went to Vraa, who ended the night with 109 yards receiving. Marshaun Coprich capped a 10-play, 61 yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown for the Redbirds (5-5, 4-3) in the second quarter to briefly cut the deficit to seven. The Bison defense held Blake Winkler to 72 yards passing.
