Girard gymnast competing in Colorado

Aidan Warga, 13, of Girard is competing this weekend in the USA Gymnastics Future Stars National Championships at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Aidan, a gymnast at Olympic Dreams Gymnastics in Liberty, qualified for the National competition last month in Indianapolis.

Other Olympic Dreams athletes who competed at the Regional level were Dylan King, 13, from Liberty, Conner Burrus, 10, from Hubbard, and Shane Lindstrom, 9, from Canfield.

The Future Stars program is designed to identify gifted male gymnasts and provide them with advanced training opportunities. This developmental program is intended to be a pathway to national and international success, such as competing in the Olympic games.

Aidan will be one of the elite 13-year-old gymnasts from around the country who will compete to be part of a six-athlete Future Stars Developmental Team in his age group. He will perform special Future Stars routines on six events as well as be evaluated on his strength and flexibility. Aidan is coached by Dave Forister.
