POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Nov. 1
Burglary: Occurred in the 300 block of Iowa Avenue. Three firearms, a laptop computer, a 32-inch flat-screen TV, a crossbow and money were stolen, for a $3,295 loss.
Nov. 2
Possible fraud: A Squaw Creek Drive man told police his mother received a letter claiming she had won $250,000 but first needed to send a $3,850 processing fee. The woman knew it was a scam and lost no money, a report showed.
Recovered property: A 2001 Yamaha all-terrain vehicle was found abandoned in Liberty Township Park off U.S. Route 422.
Assault: A man alleged that during an argument at a South Davis Street man’s residence, the man repeatedly kicked the accuser’s head, face, chest and legs. The victim was treated at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown for a broken nose, a dislocated knee and other injuries.
Nov. 3
Possible theft: A Church Hill-Hubbard Road woman reported her husband’s debit card lost or stolen at a Girard convenience store.
Arrest: Police responded to a possible drunken driver on Route 422 before arresting 46-year-old Louis A. Gori Jr. of East Howard Street, Girard, on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one each of operating a vehicle impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia. One gram of suspected marijuana, a cigarette with suspected marijuana residue and several pills were found, a report said.
Nov. 4
Menacing: A Dearborn Street man told authorities another man threatened to kill the accuser and his father if the accuser failed to steal his father’s prescription pills for the man.
Menacing: An Elruth Court woman said a man sent unwanted text messages, including a threat, to her 17-year-old daughter in an effort to reconcile with the accuser.

Oct. 25
Theft: Mary A. Jamieson, 70, of Connelly Road, Masury, was cited after $33 worth of groceries were stolen from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
Oct. 30
Arrest: Authorities were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail, where they arrested 32-year-old Jason J. Thomas of Karen Drive, Mineral Ridge, on a township warrant charging two counts of theft.
Fraud: A Logan Arms Drive woman reported having made a $2,000 down payment to a man promising to repair her roof Oct. 23, but who never showed.
Harassment: A Green Acres Drive woman said a man with whom she was in a relationship sent and made more than 100 unwanted text messages and calls after the accuser stated she wanted no further communications from him.
Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol apprehended Mardell J. Dawson, 32, no address listed, on state Route 193. He was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Oct. 31
Recovered property: Two mountain bikes apparently in a state of disrepair were found between trash bins in the 1700 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Harassment: An elderly Tibbetts-Wick Road man said he received a call claiming he had won a vehicle via a sweepstakes contest.
Fraud: A Ventura Drive woman found two unauthorized $400 charges on her credit card and reported having been threatened if she disputed the charges.
Drugs: A traffic stop on Gypsy Lane led to the arrests of Natalie R. Dillion, 30, and Kevin W. Weaver, 41, both of Union Ridge Road, Negley, on drug-related charges after police said a syringe and a spoon with burn marks common to heroin use were found.
Identity theft: A Boardman woman who recently moved from a Logangate Road apartment discovered on her credit-card statement 43 fraudulent transactions totaling $7,665 worth of services and merchandise that were made at stores throughout the Mahoning Valley.
Menacing: An Anderson-Morris Road man and his wife said a family member has been harassing and making idle threats toward them regarding the care of another family member.
Nov. 1
Drugs/weapon: Police investigated suspicious activity on Colonial Drive before taking into custody 44-year-old Randall Loyd of East Glenaven Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Loyd, who also was wanted on two felony warrants from Portage County, had a switchblade knife in his pocket and a suspected marijuana pipe in his shoe, authorities said.
Arrest: Sandra Duckworth, 56, of East Wood Street, Youngstown, was arrested on a felony Mahoning County warrant after police stopped her vehicle on Belmont Avenue.
Intimidation: A woman who is to testify as a witness in a murder case told officers a man in a gray or silver sedan drove past her Belmar Avenue home and stared at her in what she felt was an intimidating manner.
Criminal damaging: A car in the 900 block of East Liberty Street was found with its passenger-side tires slashed. The damage estimate was $400.
Nov. 2
Drugs: Police responded to a possible theft at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where they arrested 27-year-old Ishia M. Milledge of Fairmont Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs. Milledge, who also was wanted on two warrants, had in her purse a pill bottle with a torn label, a report showed.
Aggravated menacing: Anthony S. Mulhall, 23, of East Park Avenue, Hubbard, faced aggravated-menacing and criminal-trespassing charges after a Logangate Road man alleged that as part of a dispute, Mulhall refused to leave the accuser’s residence and threatened to stab him.
Drugs: Police on state Route 193 pulled over Denise S. Leonard, 28, of Craiglee Avenue, Youngstown, and cited her on a drug-abuse charge after saying 3.52 grams of suspected marijuana was found.
Trespassing: A criminal-trespassing charge was filed against 24-year-old Eric J. Wallace after Wallace, of Northview Avenue, Liberty, was accused of asking customers for money at Walmart despite having been told he was no longer permitted on the property.
Arrest: Austintown police apprehended and turned over to Liberty authorities 28-year-old Terrell Eargle of North Four Mile Run Road, Austintown. Eargle was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.s
Nov. 3
Drugs/weapon: A traffic stop on Colonial Drive resulted in the arrests of 24-year-old Jasmine A. Levy of Nocturne Avenue Northeast, Warren, on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, as well as Shatalia B. Davis, 18, of Murray Hill Drive, Liberty, on a marijuana-possession charge. Found were a device commonly used to grind marijuana, several containers of suspected marijuana and a set of brass knuckles, police said.
Nov. 4
Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed 22-year-old Calvin E. Martin to township authorities. Martin, of Northgate Drive, Liberty, was wanted on warrants charging aggravated menacing and domestic violence.
Arrest: Township officers took custody of 39-year-old Jerry Thomas of Youngstown, who was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.
