Gas leak force evacuation in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, PA. — A city neighborhood was evacuated this morning after someone who was digging struck a gas line.

Lawrence County dispatch said the accident happened at 9:21 a.m. at Delaware and Fairmont streets.

Dispatch said around noon that people were being allowed to go back to their homes. New Castle Fire Department could not provide additional details.
