Staggering man with gun arrested at Liberty Walmart

Police arrested a man who was intoxicated and carrying a large handgun in the Walmart on Goldie Road, a police report says.

Anthony Williams, 41, of Alameda Avenue in Youngstown is charged with carrying a weapon while intoxicated and obstructing official business. He is to appear for arraignment in Girard Municipal Court Nov. 12.

Police said Walmart employees called them after they saw Williams staggering around and saw the gun on his hip.

Police found him in the parking lot, where he did not comply with orders to put his hands up or get on the ground, the report says. Police were able to handcuff him. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center because of his intoxication.

He was issued a recognizance bond.
