FREE MEALS FOR VETS

Several area restaurants are offering free meals for veterans and military service members on Veterans Day, which is Monday.

Covelli Enterprises

Panera Bread bakery-cafes: Veterans and military service members can receive a free You-Pick-Two, a combo meal including a cup of soup, half-sandwich or half-salad, at any Mahoning Valley location by wearing their uniform or showing their military ID or discharge papers. O’Charley’s

Offering a free $9.99 entree to veterans and military personnel when they show their uniforms or military ID. Participating Mahoning Valley locations are on South Avenue in Boardman and in the Eastwood Mall Complex in Niles. O’Charley’s offers a year-round 10 percent discount for veterans and military service members.

Bob Evans

Free all-you-can-eat hotcakes for veterans and active military personnel at its restaurants. Proof of service is required, which can be a valid military ID; current leave and earnings statement; wearing a uniform; or showing a veterans organization membership card, such as the American Legion or VFW.

Ponderosa Steakhouse

Ponderosa Restaurants in Warren, Calcutta and Alliance, Ohio, as well as Butler and Chippewa, Pa., will have military appreciation day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Veterans should bring a military ID to receive a free buffet dinner or lunch. Special prices will also be available for friends and family who attend, $5.99 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and $8.99 from 4 to 9 p.m.

Friendly’s Ice Cream

Friendly’s Ice Cream will offer a free breakfast to veterans and active military on Veterans Day. Guests who show military ID or honorable discharge card will receive a complimentary Big-Two-Do breakfast and coffee. The Big-Two-Do allows guests to choose two slices of French toast, two buttermilk pancakes or two slices of toast; two strips of crispy bacon or two sausage links and two made-to-order farm fresh eggs.
