Woman dies, man hurt in South Side fire this morning

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman is dead and a man is being treated for burns following a fire at a 532 Dorothy Ave. home on the South Side early this morning.

Fire Investigator Capt. Alvin Ware said this morning the man being treated for burns jumped out a second story window.

Ware said the fire broke out between 2:30 and 3 a.m. this morning. He would not release the name of the person who died, saying that has to come from the Mahoning County Coroner’s office.

The death is the third by fire in the city this year.
