Police stopped an SUV for having a burned-out rear license plate light while driving on state Route 422, then arrested its driver – a 32-year-old Campbell man – on drug charges after finding more than 13 grams of suspected marijuana on him.
When police pulled over the driver, identified as Louis A. Scali, of Hyatt Avenue, at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, he appeared nervous, according to the police report.
Officers then checked Scali for weapons, and found the three bags of suspected marijuana totaling 13.1 grams. They also confiscated $443 in cash.
Scali was charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
