Flu-shot clinics
Flu-shot clinics
Mahoning County District Board of Health will conduct two flu-shot clinics before the Thanksgiving holiday. No appointment is necessary during clinic hours.
Most private insurances are accepted. Patrons should bring insurance cards or Medicare and Medicaid cards so the cost of the vaccine can be billed. The quadrivalent flu shot, the nasal spray, or the trivalent intradermal flu vaccine cost is $30. High-dose trivalent flu vaccine is available for those 65 and older for $50.
Clinic dates and locations are 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Goshen Township Administration Building, 14003 W. South Range Road, and 2 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Mahoning County District Board of Health, 50 Westchester Drive, Austintown.
Police arrest man
YOUNGSTOWN
Police stopped a 20-year-old Youngstown man for walking in the road Monday — a violation of a city ordinance — but arrested him after they found a loaded handgun in his possession.
About 2:30 p.m., police noticed the man — identified as Delord Green — walking on Earle Avenue near Summer Street on the South Side.
As soon as Green was approached by police, however, he started to run, exposing a silver 9mm pistol with a black magazine stashed in the waistband of his pants. Police eventually caught up to Green and arrested him.
He is charged with carrying concealed weapons, illegal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and also for walking in the road instead of on the sidewalk.
