Lecture to focus on Gov. David Tod

YOUNGSTOWN

Traci Manning, curator of education for the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will lecture on “David Tod and The Civil War: Youngstown Son, Wartime Governor” at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Tod Homestead Cemetery Chapel, 2200 Belmont Ave.

Tod helped raise troops from the Mahoning Valley and led Ohio through some of the country’s most difficult years. In Manning’s lecture, Tod’s early life, Valley roots and political influence will be set against the background of national disunion and war.
