Worker survives 10-foot fall at Champion work site
CHAMPION — A 59-year-old worker fell off an electrical transformer at the steel company Ohio Star Forge, 4000 Mahoning Ave., at 9:30 a.m. today, suffering nonlife-threatening injuries, the Champion Fire Department reports.
The man fell about 10 feet or more, suffering bumps and bruises and being treated at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, said Capt. Charles Joseph.
“He wasn’t injured as bad as it first sounded to be,” Joseph said.
Ohio Star Forge uses part of the former Copperweld Steel property.
