Warren crew fights two suspicious fires
WARREN
The same shift at the Warren Fire Department fought a second suspicious house fire in 24 hours this morning, responding to a fire at 2598 Draper Street SE at 4:33 a.m. Firefighters were on the scene nearly two hours.
The home was empty at the time of the fire, but the owner, John Peterson, had been working inside, renovating it, Warren Fire Chief Ken Nussle said.
The home, a single-story ranch, sustained a significant amount of damage to the living room and kitchen, where it apparently started. Damage estimate is $18,000.
The investigation is continuing.
Nussle said he doesn’t believe there is any connection between this fire and one at 10:37 a.m. Thursday at 855 Front St. Southwest that is also suspicious. It caused $20,000 damage.
