Two men accused of firing shots on South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Police arrested two men Thursday morning on charges they fired shots at a man on the South Side earlier in the week.

Reports said officers who went to arrest 25-year-old Keith Allen Fant at a home in the 900 block of Ridge Avenue about 10:30 a.m. were told by his mother and his girlfriend he was not there, but police went inside to look and found him hiding behind a furnace in the basement.

Also arrested about 9:30 a.m. was Jonathan Hilson, 24, at a home in the 800 block of Palmer Avenue.

The pair are accused of taking a shot at a man as he was walking on Aberdeen Avenue about 1:10 p.m. Monday. The man was not injured. They were both booked into the Mahoning County jail on the charge of felonious assault and are expected to be arraigned in municipal court today.
