Names: Bianca Klase; Mark Cooper Instruments: Flute; Percussion/Snare Drum

Q. When did you start playing your instrument?

A. Biance and Mark: Both began playing their instruments when they joined the fifth-grade band.

Q. Best memory of being in band/marching band?

A. Cooper: We have really great times in marching band, so it is hard to say which would have been my favorite. I enjoyed going with the marching band to Cedar Point and playing for the people. I have also enjoyed being the captain of the drum line for my junior and senior years.

Klase: Making a lot of new friends, which I still have today. I think my favorite year in band was my freshman year because it taught me about responsibility and commitment.

Q. What competitions did you participate in and awards you won?

A. Cooper: I have participated in Solo and Ensemble and drum-offs against other school percussion sections.

Klase: I have participated in District Contests.

Q. Why is music important to you?

A. Cooper: “Sing Sing Sing” was one of my favorite musical numbers. It has an unusual energy and perfectly highlighted every instrument. Music is the most influential part of my life, and is the purest way of expressing oneself.

Klase: It allows me to express myself. I enjoyed playing “Riverdance,” “All of the Lights,” “Sing Sing Sing” and “Pop Medley” because I enjoy those songs and they are fun to play.

Q. What college do you hope to attend/intended major?

A. Cooper: I plan to attend Ohio State Univeristy.

Klase: I have not decided on a major yet or which college I will be attending.
