Coroner identifies accident victims

BERLIN

The Mahoning County Coroner’s office Thursday identified the two men killed in an accident about 11:05 p.m. Monday on state Route 534 near Western Reserve and Leffingwell roads.

The men were identified as Jarod Todd Cameron, 23, of Salem, and Ryan E. Zwingler, 29, also of Salem. A news release from the coroner’s office said dental records were needed to help identify both men.

Cameron was identified as the driver of a rental truck and Zwingler the passenger. Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the truck collided with a northbound tractor-trailer driven by Mark Hoskins, 54, of Alliance.

The rental truck lost control, went off the road and then collided head-on with the tractor-trailer, troopers said. Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.

Hoskins was treated for his injuries at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
