Hubbard schools seek donations for Okla.

HUBBARD

Hubbard School District is attempting to fill a tractor-trailer with goods to benefit the families of the Moore, Okla., tornado disaster.

Donations will be collected from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday through June 9. Donations should be delivered to the Roosevelt School gym behind the board of education office, 108 Orchard Ave. SE.

Items that are needed immediately are: clothing in all sizes; boxed food; work gloves; hand sanitizer; soap, insect spray; non-perishable food; personal- hygiene items; toothbrushes and toothpaste; baby wipes; sunscreen; trash bags; diapers; deodorant; baby formula; pet food; brooms and shovels.

These items also will be collected to give to school-children in the fall: notebooks and paper; backpacks; construction paper; tape; markers; pens and pencils; copy paper; art supplies; crayons; pencil sharpeners; binders; computer desks; glue; highlighters; and rulers.

The donations will be delivered to the Oklahoma State School Boards Association in Oklahoma City. Marking donations with “OSSBA Tornado Relief” will ensure items are delivered to those in need.

Joe Kerola and P.I. & I Trucking Co. of Masury will donate the truck that will drive to Oklahoma.
