Pa. doctor charged after shooting partner

LIMA, Pa. (AP) — Investigators in Delaware County say a pediatrician is facing charges after she shot her former partner and narrowly missed their 11-year-old son.

Pennsylvania State Police say 41-year-old Lauren Patricia Daly faces attempted homicide and other charges in the Memorial Day shooting, which happened in the driveway of her home in Middletown Township.

Authorities say she was upset about not being able to speak with her son and fired several rounds through the windshield of her former partner’s car, striking the 49-year-old woman in the face and torso. She remains hospitalized, but the boy wasn’t hurt.

Police say Daly and the victim had been in a relationship that ended several years ago.

Daily is in jail on $2 million bail.
