Authorities say search teams have found the body of the teenager who was swept away by floodwaters as he tried to swim across a swollen creek near San Antonio. Avron Adams, 18, of Schertz, got swept away while trying to cross Cibolo Creek. He was reported missing Saturday.
David Harris, a spokesman for Schertz, said searchers located Adams’ body about 5:45 p.m. Sunday near where rescue dogs had identified his scent. Harris said Adams’ family has been notified.
Police seek man who stabbed soldier

French anti-terrorism investigators were combing video-surveillance tapes Sunday as they continued their manhunt for a suspect who stabbed a soldier in the throat in the commercial district of La Defense outside Paris.
The 23-year-old soldier, Cedric Cordier, was in uniform patrolling the busy underground corridors where shops and crowded public transport lines converge beneath the famous Arch of La Defense.
Cordier remained hospitalized Sunday, but officials said his throat wound wasn’t life-threatening.
Car-party bus crash leaves at least 1 dead

A 36-year-old woman is dead, her husband hospitalized in critical condition and nine other people were hospitalized after a crash early Sunday on a San Francisco Bay Area highway involving a car driven by a man police say had been drinking and a party bus.
In the 2 a.m. crash, a Honda coupe driven by 43-year-old Raul Padilla appears to have slammed into the center divider of Highway 101, then came to a stop facing oncoming traffic, California Highway Patrol Officer Art Montiel said. After the Honda stopped, the front end of a party bus, with 18 people on board, hit the disabled car.
Man charged in double homicide

Anchorage police say they have identified a suspect in the beating deaths of a couple and the sexual assault of their great-grandchild.
Sgt. Slawomir Markiewicz says the suspect is 24-year-old Jerry Andrew Active.
Active was arrested about a block from an apartment where the bodies of 73-year-old Touch Chea and his wife, 71-year-old Sorn Sreap, were found Saturday night by their granddaughter, who had returned from a trip to a movie with her husband and 4-year-old son.
The couple found their home locked from the inside. They broke in through a window and discovered the bodies and a naked man with their toddler in a bedroom.
Markiewicz says they tried to detain the man but he fled. Police say Sreap and the toddler had been sexually assaulted.
Passengers ID’d as patient, wife

A brain-cancer patient and his wife were on board the volunteer medical flight piloted by a Connecticut man that crashed in a wooded area of central New York, authorities said Sunday.
Frank and Evelyn Amerosa of Utica were aboard an Angel Flight on Friday night when the twin-engine aircraft went down in Ephratah.
Officials and family said John Campbell, 70, of Stamford, Conn., was flying the couple back from the Boston area, where Frank Amerosa was being treated for brain cancer.
The bodies of Campbell and Evelyn Amerosa have been recovered.
