R. Kashmiry and Associates, of Boardman, has merged with Joseph Ignazio Insurance.

Joseph Ignazio will hold the position of account executive of group and individual sales. He has more than 25 years of experience.

The merger will pull from the expertise of two major firms in an effort to market small to large employer group benefits as well as those for the self-employed and others who are Medicare eligible.

Nike store in Pa. to be renovated

The Nike Factory Store at Grove City Premium Outlets will be renovated and reopen June 28.

Renovations will create an expanded space to accommodate more products for children. Nike will close its Kids Factory Store at the same shopping center Tuesday and relocate kids’ products to the Nike Factory Store. Shoppers will begin to find this new product available in the following weeks, with the full selection debuting June 28.

In addition to the expanded kids’ offerings, several sport categories such as running, training, soccer, basketball and Nike Sportswear are available for men and women at the Grove City location.

The Better Business Bureau of Youngstown has partnered with Alpha Omega Document Management to provide the public with free document shredding and identity-theft prevention tips from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Covelli Centre.

Businesses and consumers are encouraged to attend the event and take a key step in identity protection by shredding and properly disposing of their sensitive paper documents. BBB staff also will be on-site to provide expert advice and tips for identity-theft protection.

Businesses and consumers are invited to bring up to three standard-size boxes or bags of documents to be shredded. Documents should be removed from binders, but staples and paper clips are acceptable.

Testing natural gas for pump engines

Another natural-gas exploration company says it’s experimenting with the gas to power huge pump engines that drive the hydraulic fracturing process.

Cabot Oil and Gas Corp. said recently that it successfully tested an engine last month in northern Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna County with gas from other wells it had already drilled.

A Cabot spokesman says the Houston-based company has two multi-engine units active in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale formation.

A number of increasingly cost-conscious oil- and gas-field companies are trying to save money by using natural gas to run trucks and drilling rigs. The conversion of the hydraulic fracturing pump engines to natural gas is particularly challenging because of the amount of horsepower necessary to power the pumps.
