Three straight doubles by Mackenzie Kiser, Carissa Hurst and Amber Ricci provided the Golden Flashes (15-10-2) with two runs in the top of the seventh which broke a 6-6 tie. Champion faces LaBrae today in a district championship game. The Flashes trailed 6-2 after five innings and Sierra Blackson’s three-run homer keyed a four-run sixth inning which tied the game. Haylee Gardiner shut down the Hornets (17-5) over the last two innings for the win. Champion won at LaBrae on April 22 by a score of 5-4, then LaBrae won at Champion on the next day, 6-5.

JEFFERSON

Emily Dugan pitched a two-hitter and struck out 13 as the Vikings (16-8-1) shut out the Lancers in a district semifinal. LaBrae scored a run in the second and another in the fifth, then really put the game out of reach with four in the bottom of the sixth. Kasey Rininger doubled twice and drove in two runs for the Vikings. Lauren Rutherford and Sklyer Gilanyi also had doubles for LaBrae. The Vikings will meet the rival Champion Golden Flashes at 1 p.m. today in Jefferson.
