Criminal damaging: A woman in the 1000 block of Tiffany Boulevard noticed a large scratch on her car’s trunk lid and rear bumper. Damage was estimated at $500.

Theft: Lea M. Donatelli, 21, was taken into custody at her home, 5275 Pinetree Lane, Boardman, on a theft warrant after an August 2012 situation in which an Imperial, Pa., man who had cleaned and inspected an apartment in the 4900 block of Southern Boulevard for tenants discovered an air-conditioning unit, a vacuum cleaner and a 20-inch TV missing.

Arrest: Officers investigating a possible domestic situation on Applecrest Court charged 22-year-old Dezmon K. Woodley with obstructing official business and resisting arrest after alleging Woodley, of 6063 Applecrest, Boardman, pushed past an officer, failed to cooperate and refused to provide personal information. No physical altercation took place, a report stated.

Theft: A vial of Ativan, a drug commonly used to treat anxiety, insomnia and tension, was stolen from Beeghly Oaks Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center, 6505 Market St.

Theft: Brandon M. Hamilton, 409 Jackson St., Youngstown, faced charges of theft and possession of criminal tools after two cellphones and a pack of anti-nicotine gum were stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. A surveillance camera also caught the 21-year-old Hamilton using scissors to open the packages, a report said.

Domestic violence: Jason M. Gray, 32, of 4528 Washington Square Drive, Austintown, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Redwood Place. He was wanted on a warrant from Austintown.

Arrest: Authorities booked 28-year-old Daniel T. Robbins Jr., 4365 Berkshire Drive SE, Warren, on felony charges of complicity to theft and failure to comply with police after a 22-inch gold necklace valued at $1,795 was stolen from Direct Jewelry Outlet, 1235 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Stolen property: Libbey J. Pawlak, 22, of 769 Golfview Drive, Boardman, surrendered on a misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property after a family member alleged Pawlek had taken a $500 diamond necklace from the accuser’s mother’s home and pawned it at a jewelry business.

Vehicle theft: A 2009 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was missing from a Market Street car dealership.

Domestic violence: Phillip J. Busico, 37, of 8346 Hitchcock Road, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his wife alleged Busico had attacked, tackled and tried to choke her during an argument. The accuser suffered a deep cut near her left eye and cuts to her neck and shoulder areas.

Aggravated menacing: The owner of a business in the 7300 block of Market Street told officers a customer threatened to arrive from out of state and bring a firearm.

Fraud: A chiropractor at a Tiffany Boulevard medical center discovered someone has been using his name to practice medicine without a license before showing authorities paperwork that included numerous errors and his forged signature. In a related situation, a Youngstown man who injured his shoulder reported paying $50 per treatment session to a man claiming to be a physical therapist, then realizing the man was nowhere to be found to finish the treatments.

Inducing panic: Two employees with the Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd., told police that several guests reported someone had called their rooms claiming the building was on fire and instructing them to leave through their windows.

Theft: A Las Vegas man at a Tiffany Boulevard motel reported 70 prescription medications stolen from his room.

Burglary: To a home in the 900 block of Anderson Drive after the front door was kicked in. A man was seen getting into the passenger side of a gray or silver Oldsmobile vehicle in the driveway, a report showed.

Citation: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 led to a citation charging Raymond L. Burney, 54, with operating a vehicle impaired. Burney, of 114 W. Boston Ave., Youngstown, also was wanted on a warrant from that city charging failure to comply with police.

Robbery: A man driving near Southern Boulevard and U.S. Route 224 reported that as he slowed to avoid hitting three men in their 20s who walked in front of him, one of the men demanded the driver let him in the car. A second man in gray sweat pants and a gray-hooded sweatshirt entered on the passenger side, searched the center console for valuables and stole the victim’s iPhone from his pocket before the three fled on foot behind Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd. The victim also told police that none of the men appeared to have had weapons, a report showed.

Harassment: A Hitchcock Road woman said she received 34 unwanted text messages and calls.

Theft: A worker with a Tiffany Boulevard store reported her wallet missing from an employee restroom.

Theft: A man noticed hair-cutting equipment was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 7000 block of Southern Boulevard.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 1300 block of Meadow Lane spray-painted a car’s driver’s side and rear.

Identity fraud: A Beechwood Drive woman discovered six unauthorized charges totaling about $588 to her debit card.

Breaking and entering/vandalism: Someone spray-painted racial slurs and other graffiti on three buildings in the 6000 block of Youngstown-Poland Road after having likely entered with force.

Theft: Police charged Lindy M. Wilcox, 41, of 7505 Oregon Trail, Boardman, with the theft of $32 worth of hand sanitizer from a Get-Go gas station, 480 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man stole $39 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

Theft: Police charged John S. Douglas, 40, of 7506 Oregon Trail, Boardman, with stealing two containers of car wax from Walmart, then released him on a summons.

Criminal damaging: A mailbox in the 2400 block of Hunters Ridge Drive sustained $175 in damage.

Attempted theft by deception: A woman in Arizona told police that she found online a residence supposedly for rent in the 700 block of Truesdale Road before a man informed her via email the monthly rent would be $700, with a required $500 security deposit. The owner, however, told the accuser the home was for sale, not for rent.

Criminal mischief: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road fast-food restaurant said that several juveniles smeared ice cream on a vehicle’s windshield.

Attempted burglary: A door leading to the garage of a residence in the 1300 block of Red Tail Hawk Drive was forced open, resulting in a damaged door frame.

Harassment: Someone placed several prank calls to a Tiffany Boulevard motel.

Illegal dumping: A Poland man who leases a piece of property in the 7800 block of Tippecanoe Road told police someone has been dumping logs and grass clippings on the tract.

Harassment: A Sugartree Drive woman said she received unwanted calls and text messages.

Burglary/unauthorized use of a vehicle: Someone entered a residence in the 4200 block of Chester Drive via an unlocked side window and stole $100 as well as food from a refrigerator. Also, a homeowner reported her 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse had been driven without permission.

Theft/vandalism: A vending machine was damaged in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road and an undisclosed sum of money was removed.

Criminal damaging: Someone, possibly with a baseball bat, damaged a mailbox in the 1300 block of Pheasant Court.

Theft: Police charged 61-year-old Carol A. Boerio, 1989 Wolosyn Circle, Boardman, with trying to steal three steaks from Modarelli’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.

Theft: A man reported the theft of a $200 weed trimmer in the 8500 block of Southern Boulevard

Identity fraud: A Shadyside Drive man alleged his stepfather opened two credit cards in the accuser’s name and charged $6,902.

Theft: A Creston Drive man noticed $41 missing from his kitchen table.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 4900 block of Brookwood Road was found with a broken front windshield. Damage came to $350.

Assault: A man working at an East Western Reserve Road business reported a co-worker shoved him, causing the accuser to strike his head and resulting in a deep cut.

Theft: The rear license plate was taken from a car in the 7400 block of West Boulevard.

Burglary: To a foreclosed residence in the 7300 block of Ranier Trail through a rear door. Taken was 158 feet of copper piping valued at $1,500.

Theft: A woman stole nine energy drinks from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Arrest: Police in the 600 block of Boardman-Canfield Road picked up 25-year-old Dusty M. Zembower after learning Zembower, of 12827 Springfield Road, New Springfield, was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Arrest: Marc A. Chicase of 5020 Forest Park Place, Boardman, surrendered on felony charges of felonious assault and public indecency after being accused of exposing himself at the Shops at Boardman Park. A woman also alleged the 36-year-old Chicase had struck her with his vehicle as he fled.

Intimidation: A Chester Drive woman told authorities a man against whom she had filed burglary and other charges made threats implying he would harm her.

Assault: Melissa S. Vutech, 29, of 1447 Bexley Drive, Austintown, faced a simple-assault charge after a Salem man alleged Vutech had spit on him during an argument related to a parking space at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: An Austintown woman discovered her wallet missing from her purse while at a Boardman-Poland Road discount store.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 300 block of Mathews Road after someone pried open the front door. Stolen were $2,500, four wristwatches, an entertainment system and cologne, for a loss of $3,250.

Fraud: An Oak Knoll Drive woman found nine unauthorized charges to her debit card totaling $782.

Theft: William J. Howe II, 21, of 464 Eighth St., Struthers, was charged in theft of $127 worth of merchandise from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Burglary: Someone pried open a side door to an apartment in the 6300 block of South Avenue, then took a 42-inch, flat-screen TV.

Theft: A $50 cellphone was stolen in the 5600 block of Loretta Drive.

Drugs: Officers picked up 56-year-old Larry G. Rusu on a misdemeanor drug-possession charge after responding to a possible heroin overdose at his apartment, 1997 Wolosyn Circle, Boardman. Rusu had three pills for which he had no prescription, police said.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: Robyn E. Smeltzer, 32, of 248 E. Kline St., Girard, surrendered on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, after a Cook Avenue man alleged she had taken his Dodge Ram truck without permission.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 4100 block of Hillman Way after someone kicked in the front door. At least two 32-inch flat-screen TVs were taken.

Misuse of a credit card: A Ewing Road man noticed four unauthorized transactions to his debit card totaling $139.

Theft: Carmine Sammartino, 30, of 3001 Julian St., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of a $75 pair of tennis shoes and cologne from Kohl’s.

Burglary: Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested 20-year-old David D. Oliver at his residence, 3615 Erie St., Youngstown, on a township warrant after someone had broken a rear window and entered a Terrace Drive apartment in January and stole numerous pieces of jewelry, a Sony PlayStation 3 system, a 27-inch TV and many other items.

Theft: Dominic J. Davey, 18, of 153 Melrose Ave., Boardman, and a Youngstown boy, 17, were arrested at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., after several cell phones had been removed from school lockers. The 17-year-old admitted to a school official his role in the thefts before being released to the custody of his mother, a report showed.

Theft: Police charged 24-year-old Stephanie J. Morehead after saying Morehead, of 847 Harbor Drive, Lake Milton, stole seven T-shirts valued at $204 from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Aggravated menacing: A Griswold Drive man told police a male driver threatened to run over the accuser’s 8-year-old daughter as she was riding her bicycle in the vicinity. The motorist then fled.

Theft: Officers picked up David B. Busse, 29, of 73 Whitman Lane, Youngstown, and Shirley A. Korda, 54, of 2440 McCartney Road, Youngstown, on warrants after 10 bottles of brake fluid were stolen from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.

Theft of services: A contractor cleaning a Simon Road residence of debris noticed 10 used tires had been placed in his trash bin without permission.

Fraud: A man used a stolen credit card to buy three cartons of cigarettes from a Shell True North gas station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A keyboard to a Kindle device, a global-positioning-system unit, various medications and $75 were missing from a car in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Robbery: Tia L. Barnette, 22, of 857 Norwood Ave., Youngstown, and Shaquela M. Mitchell, 24, of 2749 Hammaker Place, Youngstown, were charged with robbery and theft, respectively, after $92 worth of merchandise was stolen from the JCPenney store. Barnette faced the more serious charge because she twice attacked a loss-prevention official, including scratching her neck, a report said.

Theft: Thomas A. Johnson, 27, of 409 Pennsylvania St., Youngstown, was accused of taking $223 worth of clothing from Macy’s.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 100 block of Maple Drive and removed a set of hedge clippers, two chain saws, a weed trimmer and other property.

Assault: An agitated client at a Youngstown-Poland Road residential treatment facility reportedly bit, scratched and caused minor injuries to two staff members.

Theft: Stacia M. Hewlett of 106 S. Edgehill Ave., Austintown, and Anissa T. Casey of 87 Goretti Drive, Campbell, both 19, were charged, accused of stealing $226 worth of clothing and other merchandise from the JCPenney Store.

Harassment: A Wilda Avenue woman found a threatening message on her answering machine.

Breaking and entering: A claw hammer, pry bar or similar tool likely was used to remove a padlock and pry open a rear door to a vacant business in the 7300 block of Southern Boulevard.

Domestic violence: Thomas L. Lewis, 44, of 720 Cheriwood Court, Boardman, was arrested on a warrant after his girlfriend alleged an intoxicated Lewis had scratched her arms and repeatedly punched her face during a struggle.

Counterfeit: Police received complaints of a man between age 19 and 23 using fake $100 bills to buy Western Union money orders at two township businesses, including CVS Pharmacy, 7230 Market St.

Harassment: A Garden Valley Drive man reported finding threatening text messages on his cellphone as well as such correspondence on his Facebook page.

Theft: Bobbi T. Olds, 34, of 6093 Applecrest Court, Boardman, was charged with stealing three pork chops from Modarelli’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.

Burglary: Occurred in the 300 block of Afton Avenue, though no property was missing or appeared to have been damaged.

Theft: An estimated $12,000 worth of sterling silver was taken from two trays in a display case at Gracylane, a gift store in the Southern Park Mall.

Identity theft: A Lockwood Boulevard woman learned her bank-account information had been used to make eight unauthorized purchases totaling about $990.

May 19

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail took into custody 31-year-old Travis S. Newsom, 222 Beaver St., Niles, on a felony charge of complicity to theft after two cell phones were stolen last month from Radio Shack, 7131 Tiffany Blvd.

Drugs: A traffic stop on Market Street led to the arrest of Harold J. Shuler Jr., 203 E. Judson Ave., Youngstown, on a felony drug-possession charge after authorities said the 23-year-old Shuler had a bag containing a powder that tested positive for crack cocaine.

Vandalism: A key was used to damage a vehicle’s finish in the 5100 block of Firnley Avenue.

Theft: A Hunters Ridge Drive man reported a $200 cell phone missing from his car.

Burglary: Took place in the 4000 block of Hudson Drive via a rear door. The homeowner told police he saw a boy age 14 or 15 attempting to steal a bicycle from his porch before the teen fled.

Trespassing: Authorities responded to a possible fight in the 200 block of Erskine Avenue, where a man reported two people were on his daughter’s property without permission.

Arrest: Officers responded to a loud party on Old Oxford Lane before charging 19-year-old Michael A. Berringer, 5341 Old Oxford, Boardman, with allowing underage persons to possess and consume alcoholic beverages. Police also issued minor-misdemeanor citations to several people.
