Glenwood girls take on Center

The Boardman Glenwood Middle School girls track team lost to Center 49-62 May 14. Top performers placing first for Glenwood were Makayla D’Eramo in the 100-meter hurdles, Casey Zaitzew in the 1600-meter run and the 800-meter run and the 4x400 meter relay of Casey Zaitzew, Nadine Gabriel, Savannah Beule and Skylar Bryant.

Placing second for Glenwood was Riley Zawrotuk in the 100-meter hurdles, Nadine Gabriel in the 1600-meter run and 800-meter run, Makayla D’Eramo in the 200-meter hurdles and the 4x100 meter relay of Aniyuh White, Lexus Willis, Riley Zawrotuk and Skylar Bryant. Taking third for Glenwood was Lexus Willis in the 100-meter dash, Savannah Beule in the 1600-meter run and the 4x200 meter relay team of Aniyuh White, Lexus Willis, Riley Zawrotuk and Skylar Bryant.

Glenwood boys lose to Center

The Boardman Glenwood boys track team lost to Center Middle School 92-31 May 14. Top performers for Glenwood were Nathaniel Ams placing first in the 1600-meter run and 800-meter run and Richard Fisher in the high jump. Placing second for Glenwood was the 4x100 meter and 4x200 meter relay of Noah Falleti, Matt Hillard, Ethan Himes and John Fleet, and the 4x400 meter relay of Nathaniel Ams, Matt Maroni, Koby Fellows and Chris Butler.

Memorial mile race set

The 23rd annual Memorial Mile running road race will be Monday at 9:35 a.m. in Boardman. The race will start at Routes 22 and 7. In this one-mile road race, some of the best runners in the area will compete for gift certificates and awards in 14 age groups. The entry fee is $8 in advance and $10 on the day of race. Runners 11 and under are free with pre-registration.

Entry forms, day of race registration, and packets can be picked up at Walgreens at Route 224 and Route 7. Sponsored by Walgreens, Quaker Steak and Lube, the DeBartolo Corporation, Armstrong, Hill Barth and King and other local businesses. Benefit golf outing set

The Brett Wilcox benefit golf outing will be July 21 at Lakeside Golf Course. Shot gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per golfer or $250 for a foursome. Cost includes coffee and doughnuts at registration, lunch, dinner and drinks. Sponsorships are available for $100 for a hole sponsor or $350 for a gold sponsor.

First place will receive $400 and second place $200. In addition, there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a 50-inch TV raffle.
