Event offers freedom from back pain

The Eastern Ohio Chiro- practic Society is sponsoring a Freedom from Back Pain event from Memorial Day through July 4 to benefit the USO, a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization that supports U.S. troops and their families.

New and referred patients who donate $17.76 to USO will receive a free health history and consultation, orthopedic and neurological exam and report of findings.

Park board to meet

The park commissioners board of Boardman Township Park will meet at 1 p.m. today in the park office, 375 Boardman-Poland Road.

Patrol probes accident

LIBERTY

The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues investigating a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 80 near the Logan Way overpass Tuesday night.

The driver, William Nasos, 75, of New Jersey was driving a 2008 Motor Coach Industries tour bus westbound on I-80. According to a patrol report, Nasos drove off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail face and several concrete barriers.

The vehicle continued off the right side of the road, overturned and came to rest on the passenger side. Nasos, the only occupant, was uninjured.

Township police and fire departments and members of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Threatening call

Marine recruiters at the Southern Park Mall received a call from someone who threatened to come to the office and “shoot up the place.”

Recruiters called its main office in Chicago to report the incident.

A special agent at the main office called the Boardman Police Department and explained what happened.

The agent told police he and the recruiters were unaware of who called or from what number.

They added that they have nobody in mind who would have called.
