Police capture Willie Wilks, suspect in North Side shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — The city man wanted in connection with a deadly North Side shooting Tuesday is now in police custody.

Willie Wilks was taken into custody by city police just after 2 p.m. today inside the Rockford Village Housing Development. Police saw Wilks driving on the South Side and followed him to the housing development, where he attempted to flee on foot. Police chased him into nearby woods where he was captured. Police found a gun in the car Wilks was driving, but it’s not believed to be the gun used in the shooting of Orroro Wilkins.
