Homes sales within Northeast Ohio are up more than 15 percent in April compared to the previous year.

There were 3,325 homes sold in April for a total dollar value of $422,496,917 — increases over the prior year of 15.5 percent and 19.9 percent, respectively, according to statistics form the Ohio Multiple Listing Service.

The figures are for the Northeast Ohio Real Estate Exchange area, which includes Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. The average sale price in the area has also increased by 3.9 percent to $127,067.

For the year home sales within NEOREX have increased by 10.9 percent compared to 2012 through the end of April.
