Food safety event set to raise awareness

SALEM

A free food safety awareness program is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Pavilion 1 in Salem’s Centennial Park to raise public awareness about Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

The family friendly event will feature acoustic music, cooking demonstrations and free samples from Healthy Heart Healthy Pleasures and Jupiter Studios.

In addition to speeches that will elaborate on GMOs and the effects presented by them, the event also will feature information on important petitions and information to take home.
