Schoenike tells family he is fine and in Wisconsin

SPRINGFIELD — Missing attorney and school board member Jon Schoenike has been found in Wisconsin.

Township police Chief Matt Mohn said the family found out where Schoenike at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday when Schoenike called his wife. Mohn said Schoenike told his wife he was fine but did not give a reason as to why he left home.

His family is on its way to Wisconsin to visit him, Mohn said.

Schoenike was first reported missing by his family Friday after his vehicle was found in Boardman with the keys, wallet and cell phone still inside. That report led to a series of vigils and media accounts.
