Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, will have a fifth anniversary celebration with a tent sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday to thank the donors, volunteers, customers and community. The sale will include items such as furniture, building materials, and lighting. Refreshments will be served.

Proceeds help support Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County. Regular store hours are Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, call 330-755-2232, ext. 305.

Groover award

Girard

Groover Roofing and Siding of Girard brought home all three of this year’s 2012 GAF Master Elite Awards.

The local company is one of 127 contractors to accomplish this and a part of the 3 percent of roofing contractors to have earned an elite status by GAF.

Officials at GAF, the largest roofing manufacturer in North America, pre-screened Groover Roofing and Siding and said, in a release, the distinction “truly sets them apart from the rest.”

Awards won were for consumer-protection excellence, training excellence and installation excellence.

EBook library read

More than 7,500 libraries around the world, including Hubbard Public Library, are participating in the Big Library Read, a two-week pilot program.

It enables millions of library patrons to simultaneously access and read a single eBook title until June 1. The selected title, “The Four Corners of the Sky” by Michael Malone, is available in OverDrive Read, Kindle.

Sourcebooks will host a live Facebook chat Thursday with the author.

Fatal crash

PERRY, PA.

A motorist driving on state Route 358, near Bean Road, died after losing control of his car, Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer said.

Police said the one-car accident happened about 3 a.m. Saturday. No further details were provided.
