Crane drive and ride to aid Teen Challenge

POLAND

The annual Crane Drive and Freedom Ride will take place June 7 and 8 in the parking lot of Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road.

Proceeds will benefit Ohio Valley Teen Challenge.

At 3 p.m. June 7, various supporters will take turns being hoisted by the crane more than 60 feet into the air.

They will remain there 24 hours and be joined by others during the day and night.

On the ground below, food, fun and fellowship will be featured.

Donors are asked to sponsor people at $4 for each minute they spend in the crane.

The Freedom Ride will begin and end at the crane on June 8.

A continental breakfast and blessing of the bikes will be featured at 8 a.m., and the ride will begin at 9.

When bikes return, lunch will be served.

The fees are $15 per rider and $5 per passenger.

Teen Challenge operates a men’s residential center that offers a faith-based program for those battling addictions.
